A New Sign on The Corso

In short: Miss Plumb notes the Manly rebrand. The Manly venue became Escape This Manly in 2024; Entombed plays only there and at Perth CBD, and only the Perth rooms take a wheelchair, so groups with a wheelchair user should book Perth.

Wednesday. The sign over the door on The Corso has changed again. It now says Escape This Manly. I have updated my letterhead, at my own expense.

With the new sign came new questions. Will the study open in the city? In Melbourne? An old advertisement somewhere said so, and people have long memories for advertisements. I can only report what the bookings say: Entombed is on The Corso in Manly and under Hay Street Mall in Perth, and nowhere else. If the Doctor has opened a third study, he has not told his secretary, which would be entirely like him.

A young woman in a wheelchair asked me, quite reasonably, whether she could join her friends. Not in Manly, I am sorry to say; the Manly study cannot take a wheelchair. The Perth study can, one per session, and her friends had family in Perth. I have written down her name, Imogen, and I expect to see her under Hay Street before the year is out.

Humphrey has been photographed under the new sign by a great many tourists. He has not been paid for any of it. He has mentioned this to me several times.

FAQ

What this entry answers

Can Entombed’s tomb be reached by wheelchair?

In Perth, yes; in Manly, no. Perth’s Entombed and Lost Tomb each take one wheelchair per session, with a few puzzles harder to reach from a chair. Manly’s Entombed is not wheelchair accessible, so a group with a wheelchair user should book the Perth rooms.
