Thirteen and Over in Perth

In short: Miss Plumb explains the Perth rules. Perth’s Entombed is strictly 13 and over, enforced when booking, and takes 2 to 8 players with at least four on Saturdays; Manly’s Entombed takes younger children and up to six players.

Wednesday. A family arrived at the Perth study this morning with a daughter who was twelve and three-quarters. She told me the three-quarters twice.

I had to be firm. The Perth study is thirteen and over, every player, no exceptions, and the booking system will not be sweet-talked. The Manly study takes younger explorers with their families, and I gave her its address and my blessing. She took both with dignity and said she would be back in three months. I believe her.

The rest of the family played without her, which she says she will never forgive. They were four, which is just as well, because it was a Saturday and Saturday parties in Perth must be four or more. On other days two will do, and eight is the most the study will hold, which is about the number of Smiths it would take to tidy it.

The Caller was quiet all morning. I like to think he was disappointed about the three-quarters too.
